A Tribute to My Beautiful Children

A WALK DOWN MEMORY LANE:

We were in the same place at the same time six years ago on Mother’s Day but we didn’t know it. Your pops and I hadn’t even met each other yet! When I witness the pained look on some of your faces, I want to reach through the screen and comfort your hearts.

So much has changed since then. What an honor it is for all of us to be part of each other’s lives now, even though that’s not what any of us expected...

On Mother’s Day, 2023

On a day when the world celebrates moms (and rightfully so) I wanted to celebrate our kids. Our kids have faced challenges that not all have to face. They’ve had to adapt to things they didn’t choose, give up things that were “normal”, and let new people into their hearts even though it felt really vulnerable and scary.

To my kids: (YES YES I know some of you don’t like to be called kids anymore but…. DEAL)

Each of you are such an important part of our family. You bring a unique brushstroke to the canvas of our lives, creating a collective masterpiece that is richer and more beautiful than anything I could have imagined.

I’m in awe of your resilience, sacrifices, creativity, and love.

Today I’m grateful for your incredible souls. Your existence is my greatest gift, your love my most precious treasure!

I pray my presence and role in your lives will be like a nurturing rain that helps you evolve into who you’re created to be.
